Reading the table
- Closed / ended: the named company or programme stopped; a parent or successor may continue.
- Planned / insolvent: a notice or proceeding is established, but a fleet-wide service cutoff may remain unknown.
- Restructured: a sale or new owner preserved some operations. It is not a claim that the robots stopped working.
- Dates: the event is the cited notice, filing or report; End records the cutoff or corporate change. A dash means the date is not published. Partial dates preserve source precision.
- Impact: expand for offline use, support operators or recovery options, including manual Neato cleaning and the separate Moxie recovery paths.
Selection and verification
Entries need recognizable industry significance, substantial sourced backing, a major programme or meaningful deployments. Aliases and phases of the same shutdown share one row. Routine minor updates and acquisitions without a related closure or restructuring are excluded.
Company notices, filings, support pages and independent reporting are linked per row. Source types remain labelled in the reference index. Support claims and recovery compatibility should be confirmed for the specific robot; no physical robot or recovery installation was tested.
Frequently asked questions
Does bankruptcy mean the robots stop working?
No common technical outcome follows from bankruptcy alone. An owner may continue a service, sell it, suspend it or shut it down. Shape Robotics is marked as bankruptcy with unresolved service status because the inspected notice establishes bankruptcy and delisting, without a fleet-wide service cutoff.
Is Moxie permanently dead?
Embodied closed, but Moxie has later rights-owner and community recovery paths. Moxie Robots, Inc. states that it acquired the rights; OpenMoxie documents a separate local-hub project. Compatibility, account access and support terms need checking for the specific robot.
Are these numbers peak market capitalisations?
The robotics table labels private valuations, reported funding, individual rounds and transaction consideration separately. It does not treat those as peak circulating market cap. A historical maximum is only claimed where the relevant complete series has been verified.
How many recent shutdown announcements are recorded here?
One selected announcement, Kabam, in the 25 August to 23 October 2026 window. The same table includes older events, corporate restructurings and end-of-support notices, labelled by date and status. The Last 60 days filter includes all event types; use Status to narrow it to closure announcements.
